Our technicians can recondition/repair most valve types. We start our reconditioning process by first inspecting the general condition of the valve, focusing on erosion, corrosion, and cracking followed by disassembly and cleaning of the valve. Subsequently we refurbish/replace the trim and seat to meet factory specifications, replace the packing and replace the valve stem (if necessary).

During the reconditioning process we may also machine the flange face in order to ensure squareness and ensure that the surface is clean and ready to accept the new sealing gasket. In the course of this process we will also replace any damaged grease fittings. When finished, the valve will be tested, labeled, and painted to help protect against corrosion. All repairs are done within the context of the valves specific pressure rating and safety factor.

With the instruction of our clients, valves can also undergo partial repairs. These are repairs that are not as extensive as a complete reconditioning but nevertheless necessary to bring back a valve to good operating condition.

We are able to modify a valve to meet your specifications. Valve modification can be undertaken by adding a hydraulic, electrical, or pneumatic actuator or even by changing the handwheel type from a conventional handwheel to a chain actuated handwheel.

Our technicians can also add a steam jacket to your valve if it is required and also modify other simple aspects such as your valve’s seat, flange, grease fittings, packing, etc.

We have our own valve testing equipment on site which allows us to directly oversee all testing procedures and also allow inspection by independent agents.

When specified, each valve undergoes testing on a hydraulic or pneumatic pressurizing system. We can pressure test a wide range of valve sizes and styles, and with our 450 ton hydraulic press we can accept very large valves. Our equipment gives us the ability to pressure test the seat/trim, body, and packing to the desired pressure rating which meets or exceeds the manufacturer’s specifications and safety margins. Tests that are frequently undertaken are the following: shell test, high pressure closure test, and low pressure closure.
